That's the rub

From the AP:
"...authorities didn't consider Laurean a threat to Lauterbach, or later a flight risk, because they had indications the pair were on friendly terms."

Dear God. She's meeting with military prosecutors because she says he raped her. How fucking friendly do you think she feels toward him? How the hell can you be on "friendly terms" with a person you're accusing of raping you?

Such a short phrase to reveal such an insane mindset--one that keeps too many women in danger or in fear.

Seriously? Friendly terms? These gits sure have their heads pretty far up their own rears, eh?

It's just terrible.

And that's not the worst of it, in my opinion. Before it was discovered that she was murdered, but after she went missing, it was widely reported that she has a history of bipolar disorder and lying, with a come back now and face up to this lie you've told overtone.

The betrayal this woman must have felt. I can't imagine.

Every time I hear something else about that case I get more confused/sad/weirded out. Apparently, common sense was on Christmas break or something because no one was using it. So so so sad in every way possible.
